Anger Management Participants are Brave

Anger Management class participants are sometimes given less than deserved recognition for being brave, in my opinion.  It is not easy to face one’s painful emotions like IMPATIENCE, FRUSTRATION, ANGER, RESENTMENT, RAGE. These are the main angry-like feelings, but the other angry-like feelings that the reader may have are the following:

aggravated, aggressive, agitated, arrogant, bitter, combative, destructive, furious, enraged, hostile, hateful, irritated, mad, outraged, peeved, quarrelsome, revengeful, seething, ticked off, violent, wanting to get even.

YOU ARE NOT CRAZY OR BAD OR WEAK BECAUSE YOU HAVE FEELINGS THAT ARE SO STRONG YOU DON’T KNOW HOW TO HANDLE THEM.  We are not taught in most of our homes, schools or churches…how to handle such strong feelings. We might be afraid we could hurt someone or ourselves.  We might have been told we are bad to have such feelings, and so feel ashamed to admit we have them.   We might not be aware of such feelings at all, but might suffer from physical stress symptoms like body pains, irritable bowel syndrome, ulcers, heart disease, high blood pressure, cancer to name a few of the illnesses that are now thought to have a repressed anger component in many cases. OR YOU MIGHT BLURT OUT MEAN THINGS TO OTHERS THAT YOU WISH IN RETROSPECT YOU DIDN’T DO. These are the two extremes people use in trying to handle anger that do not work.  One is passive and the other is aggressive.  Neither works.

Everyone could use conflict resolution skills, or anger management training.  IN MY CLASSES, I teach how to transform these feelings into positive action.  IT IS POSSIBLE to do so if you know the path of anger, and what the early warning signs are, and are in a safe protected environment while learning.  And it is important to have some coping tools in your black bag of tricks………

YOU CAN BE BRAVE AND CHANGE YOUR LIFE!  YOU CAN BE UNDERSTANDING TO YOUSELF AND PATIENT  WITH YOURSELF IN HOW YOU GOT THIS WAY.  YOU CAN DO IT!
