“The more we have suffered low mood in the past, the more negative will be the mood and self-talk unlocked by our present mood, and the more our mind will be dominated by these present patterns………When we ruminate (ie, think or brood), we become fruitlessly preoccupied with the fact that we are unhappy and with the causes, meanings, and consequences of our unhappiness…..Why do we ruminate? …because we believe that it will reveal a way to solve our problems. WHAT DOES WORK FOR DEPRESSION? To stop hanging out in the “doing mode” ( thinking), and change to the “being mode”, awareness.
