As it is said in the real estate business regarding buying property: the most important element is location. “location, location, location”. So, in the second half of life, in order to keep the body fit, what is crucial is body work. I refer to massage therapy, osteopathy, chiropractic, deep tissue, cranial sacral therapy, and myo-fascial release therapy. The massage therapy is needed 2x a month or more if possible. But whenever you can is better than none. Then the other modalities can follow when needed. You want to be sure your bones are not in misalignment, as this can lead to arthritis.
If one has the attitude that being over 50 years old requires extra time and money for alternative health care, and one follows through on this, it is much more likely that whatever we perceive as “old age” does not have to be so debilitating as it used to be…IF WE TAKE EXTRA CARE IN OUR MIDDLE YEARS. That is the clue: EXTRA PREVENTIVE CARE!!! which will TAKE EXTRA TIME AND MONEY.
People are living much longer these days so it means extra care is needed to have quality of life. Also be sure to check in with the Chinese doctor for herbs/ acupuncture/homeopathy, or the alternative doctor of your choice.
Then it is more likely we can enjoy our older years, which can have depth and wisdom and humor..far beyond what we had in our youth! We can share with the younger generations. WE MUST BE POSITIVE and TAKE POSITIVE ACTION if we wish for this new attitude towards age-ing to be real for us.
