Anger Management
Is Anger Making Your Choices For You?
Have you found you are often irritable, impatient, or frustrated for big or small reasons? Is it sometimes difficult to tell the two apart? Are you feeling depressed, but don't know why? Do you have health-related problems like insomnia, headaches, backaches, digestive issues, addictions or heart problems? Do you have trouble keeping an intimate relationship? Are you sometimes unable to keep from moving from calm to furious very quickly, so that you have to watch carefully what might come out of your mouth? Maybe you sometimes regret things you have said because you could not hold back in the moment. Do you wish you could develop a clearer view of your emotions and increase your ability to act with calm and care? If you've answered yes to some of these question, you may benefit from anger management.
You might have trouble in personal and business relationships because ongoing anger and disagreements lead to negative consequences, such as break-ups, family problems and work issues. Perhaps it feels as if those conflicts are never resolved.
You may have relied on drinking or other substances to calm down, reduce frustration and numb your stress. You might feel that others are messed up and wrong and you need to let them know how you see it in your own way. Maybe you have told your self that this is “just the way I am," even though others have told you that you can be difficult to be around. You may not know how to stop feeling so angry. If this sounds familiar, anger management life coaching could help you control your anger.

Many People Suffer With Intense Emotions and Anger
If you relate to some or most of the above symptoms of anger issues, you are not alone. Anger is a normal human emotion that all mammals experience, from babies to elderly adults. Anger lets us know that something we perceive is not right in the environment. This makes it an ally. But perhaps you feel that anger is not an ally for you, that the above symptoms are hurting rather than helping.
To ride the wave of anger so it is an ally we have to know certain techniques. These techniques are not usually taught in our families, churches or schools. Thus, for many people, anger becomes a destructive force. But with help, you can make anger an ally again.
Anger is a natural, instinctive feeling that is supposed to function as a “messenger”. We mammals are wired to receive these “messages” and to act on them in an effective, intelligent way. Thus, there is nothing wrong with you for feeling angry. Rather, it is how you handle the anger that turns it into a helpful force or a destructive force. Anyone can learn these skills of making anger your ally, with help and practice and anger management.
Anger Management Tucson AZ Can Help You Feel Better Control Over Your Emotions Again
In my 25 years of experience as a psychotherapist, I have helped many people develop a healthy relationship with anger by using anger management. I use a combination of five different anger management programs that I have integrated into one. There are ways to tune into your “anger triggers” more quickly so that you have time to manage the strong feelings that come over you. And there are ways to figure out what exactly is making you feel so angry. In sessions, I can help you figure out what to say to others so they do not take offense, even while you do not withhold the truth of what you feel. You can learn to discern which battles to fight and which to walk away from. As you begin to develop better anger management skills, you can improve your relationships, your health, and your emotional and mental well-being.
In anger management sessions, I will use my strong understanding of the relationship between body and mind to help you develop an increased awareness of your whole self.
Besides cognitive and emotive training, I also do Somatic Experiencing (SE.) work with the body. I utilize many related approaches, so if one does not work for you, we will try another, until we solve the problem.
Why Should I Go To Anger Management for Help with My Frustration/Anger Issues?
Here are two brief case studies about anger management life coaching clients I have worked with in the past. These are fictionalized versions of these clients, with all identifying details changed. I would never share your information or story with others.
Case Study 1: Young Man became so angry he wanted to punch others out when they disagreed. He could not control how fast this strong emotion of anger came over him, and his fist was in the other's face before he was even aware of it. This got him into legal and relationship trouble. He worked with me for one month before he could walk away from fights with confidence and self-control. Within two more months, he was beginning to practice talking to others about what was bothering him without offending them.
Case Study 2: Single Mom held anger in toward her ex-husband for a very long time. He treated her so unfairly when a custody battle occurred seven years ago. She felt stuck, because she was always nervous and hyper-vigilant. She did not sleep well and had not been able to succeed in another relationship, though she really wanted one. After working with me, she was able to let go of the anger (without having to repress it), so she could move on with her life. She is sleeping better and has the ability to relax. She has made decisions for therapy for her children, as well as on-going therapy for herself. Earlier, she could not see her way forward to make this creative plan to free herself. The anger was so strong, it blocked her wisdom.
You, too, can feel better and gain a deeper understanding of your emotions. I invite you to consider the emotional and financial cost of your anger/frustration issues, not to mention the time you have dedicated to feeling angry or trying to make amends. Consider how often relationships don't work well.
Consider how seldom your innate wisdom has come to the surface to solve problems, but perhaps instead has been blocked under so much confusion and emotion. It is possible to overcome this frustration with help. I have personally and professionally experienced effective transformation using the best anger management life coaching techniques I have gathered from five different programs over 25 years of experience.
